Are you a regenerative farmer in search of a place to get serious about your farming business?

Wild Type Ranch, LLC is looking to bring 1 or more farmers into our diversified regenerative operation in Dane County, WI. We are looking for a motivated individual or individuals with enough experience under their belt to run their own profitable enterprise in coordination and cooperation with other enterprises on the farm. We are flexible on the exact model but in general are offering access to land and facilities, some shared equipment, the opportunity to market under our brand, and a collegial working environment in exchange for a negotiated share of the production. We are open to a wide range of potential enterprises, including taking over one of what we have already initiated. Of particular interest are market garden and pastured broilers.

THE FARM: The farm is a 177-acre former dairy in Southern Dane County, in S Central WI. The farm was purchased in early 2025 and is dedicated to promoting regenerative agriculture.  We are now hitting the local markets with direct-to-consumer pastured chicken, lamb, pork and eggs. The farm is beautiful rolling terrain, about 70% recently in row crops, 15% permanent pasture, 8% woods and the remainder in wetland and meadow. There is a largely intact dairy barn, 2 large sheds, a renovated open front barn and pens and several other buildings. There is no livable house on the property, but there is a working septic, well and electricity.

WHO WE ARE: Wild Type Ranch, LLC is a three-person partnership. Our guiding principles are healthy soil, nutritious food, balanced living and engaged community. Sara (age 60) is a former Animal Science professor with >20 years experience running her grass-fed beef operation in Texas. Brian (age 53) is a full-time regenerative ag consultant who works part time on the farm. He is a former dairy farmer. Justin (age 38) works full time on the farm and has experience managing an urban vegetable and egg non-profit.
