June 27 is "World Microbiome Day"!

The deeper I get into regenerative agriculture, the more I understand that the health of our soil translates through our entire ecosystem. And the health of the soil is dependent on the soil microbiome. Soil without biology is just dirt. Healthy soils (i.e soils with healthy microbiomes) contribute to disease and pest resistance in the plants that grow in them, and also in the animals that eat them.

Working with my integrative medicine physician and team, I also have come to appreciate the effects of optimizing my own microbiome, especially the gut microbiome.

So, in honor of World Microbiome Day, enjoy this short explainer video, check out my post on mycorrhiza or delve into the book What Your Food Ate, which I consider foundational reading for anyone interested in a healtheir food system.
